Hotel Overview

Sense of Place

Les Jardins de Skoura sits in the town of Skoura, a fertile oasis in the middle of the desert bursting with palm groves. The hotel is surrounded by a huge garden, alive with grasses and trees, and is built in a traditional Berber Kasbah style.

Rooms at Les Jardins de Skoura

Rooms and suites at Les Jardins de Skoura are constructed in a traditional Moroccan style, with rugged adobe-style walls, arched doorways and exposed wooden ceiling beams. Floors, either stone or patterned tiles, are decorated with ornate Arabian rugs and Moroccan textiles. The traditional style is offset by the odd quirky feature, like neon-coloured bedspreads and chairs.

Food & Drink

The hotel’s restaurant specialises in refined Mediterranean and Moroccan dishes, with specialities including zucchini with chermoula, beetroot gazpacho and citrus-flavoured terrine. Extensive use is made of vegetables grown in the hotel garden, and the hotel even produces its own olive oil. Dinner can be enjoyed by candlelight amid the olive trees when the weather allows; in the winter months, a chimney fire lends the dining room a cosy atmosphere.

Facilities

The beautiful outdoor pool shaded by olive trees, is a lovely place to relax in the summer months; there are also several terrace areas where you can recline on cushions and relax with a drink or a good book.

Activities at Les Jardins de Skoura

History buffs will love Skoura, which is home to several famous Kasbahs including the narrow towers and maze-like secret passageways of Amerhidil, which features on a Moroccan banknote. At Toundount salt mine, you can visit the spot where 180 million-year-old dinosaur remains were excavated. For a relaxing afternoon activity, several beaches line the Dades River.
