Hotel Overview

Sense of Place

Sitting in the arid desert of southern Morocco, and overlooking a landscape carved through with giant canyons, Akka Nait Sidi enjoys a pretty spectacular location. The camp is remote, sitting roughly equidistant between Agadir, Marrakech and Ouarzazate, but a few hours’ drive from each; desolate desert, plunging canyons and traditional Berber villages dot the landscape as far as the eye can see.

Rooms at Akka Nait Sidi Desert Camp

Akka Nait Sidi’s 14 Bedouin desert tents combine desert living with modern standards of comfort, constructed in a traditional style, decorated with authentic Berber textiles, and featuring comfortable beds. Toilets and showers are shared and feature solar-heated water.

Food & Drink

Meals are served either in the restaurant tent, or, when the weather permits, in the great outdoors. Breakfast is a hearty spread consisting of home-baked bread, cooked dishes and a range of cheeses and fruit. Lunch is served at the nearby Chez Lahcen guesthouse, while dinner is a traditional affair which varies according to the produce on offer at the local market that day; dishes are traditional Moroccan, and vegetarian diets can be catered for on request.

Facilities

The camp features lots of secluded spots where you can relax with a drink and take in the desolate beauty of the desert landscape. The Maure Café also features a small pool, perfect for a refreshing dip in the hot summer.

Activities at Akka Nait Sidi Desert Camp

A range of excursions and activities depart from the camp, including camel rides through the desert, treks up the Bani mountain and a trip to an ancient hammam in Douar de Tghit.
