Kasbah du Toubkal

Toubkal National Park is dominated by the rugged beauty of the Atlas Mountains, with Toubkal itself the highest peak in North Africa. The Kasbah overlooks the village of Imlil, where a rich Berber culture abides, and is perfectly situated for hiking through the Imlil Valley.

Rooms at Kasbah du Toubkal are rustic yet luxurious, with exposed beams and woodwork in the ceiling and on the walls and Moroccan lanterns adding to the atmosphere. Colour schemes are simple, with the pale wood of the window frames, floors and furnishings offset by the white linen of the bed sheets and curtains and brightly coloured, ornate rugs.

At breakfast, freshly squeezed fruit juice, home-baked bread and homemade yoghurt accompany Berber pancakes; lunch and dinner follow an ever-changing set menu. Examples of dishes include rabbit tagine, veal shank, and couscous served with chicken and figs; the dining room evokes a traditional Berber home, with low tables, cushions and the light of candles.
