Hotel Overview

Sense of Place

The American Colony Hotel is somewhat of a botanical paradise, particularly in the warmer months of the year. Combining historic architecture and authentic materials with modern luxury, this hotel offers a charming stay from beginning to end.

Rooms at The American Colony Hotel Jerusalem

Split between four buildings, each with its own character and garden, the rooms are beautifully appointed with a style that resembles something of an English country house, yet retains the longstanding traditions of Israeli architecture. Opt for a regal four-poster bed for beautiful mahogany craftsmanship, with high-quality Frette linens throughout.

The ceilings are either painted or vaulted, while the floors encompass original century-old Jerusalem stone. With a choice between traditional, modern, large or small, there’s a room to suit everyone’s tastes here.

Food & Drink

The Arabesque is the hotel's main dining room, found in the Main House, with a graciously traditional setting. The delicious gourmet menu features authentic Middle Eastern dishes as well as international cuisine, perfectly paired with fine wines from local boutique wineries. The Courtyard is the heart of the hotel, and has hosted many a famous guest. Littered with swaying mulberry trees and a pretty central fountain, this is an idyllic botanical setting for breakfast, lunch or dinner.

The intimate Cellar Bar is the perfect for an atmospheric drink. With low arched ceilings, cosy furnishings and ancient rosy stone, this is a real evening retreat.

Facilities

Lined with Italian glass and built from ancient Jerusalem stone, the hotel's pool is another unique attraction, complete with cascading water features and plush sun loungers. Even the fitness centre doesn't miss out when it comes to setting, its state-of-the-art equipment overlooking the pool and gardens.

After a workout session, unwind in the Swedish sauna: to soothe those aching muscles after a day in the city, a professional masseuse is on hand with a selection of massage treatments.

Activities at The American Colony Hotel Jerusalem
