Luxury Israel Holidays

Israel has plenty to offer the adventurous traveller on a luxury Middle East holiday, and promises a jam-packed and memorable itinerary. The buzzing, cosmopolitan seafront city of Tel Aviv has everything from Bauhaus architecture and sweeping sandy beaches to a fantastic food and drink scene. The religious landmarks are unrivalled, and the country’s beautiful landscapes are studded with hills, valleys, deserts and multi-coloured canyons, as well as a gorgeous coastline fringing the Mediterranean Sea.

Israel, or the Holy Land, has huge religious significance. The call to prayer can be heard over the rooftops and religion plays its part in every aspect of daily life. See some of the world’s most famous historic and religious attractions on a luxury Jerusalem holiday, such as the golden Dome of the Rock, which dominates the skyline, and the historic Western Wall. In Bethlehem, which can be reached in a day trip from Jerusalem, you’ll find the Church of Nativity, which is said to have been built on the site where Jesus Christ was born, while Nazareth is considered to be where the Archangel Gabriel told the Virgin Mary she had been chosen by God to have his son.

Pilgrims also flock to the Sea of Galilee (which is actually a large freshwater lake), where Jesus performed miracles such as walking on water, and delivered the Sermon on the Mount at the shoreline churches of Tabgha. In the rocky, rugged landscapes of the vast Negev Desert in the south, explore archaeological treasures, go birdwatching, enjoy camel rides in the dunes, and listen to Bedouin storytellers. There is far more to Israel than you may think.

Just a 4-hour flight from the UK, Tel Aviv can be enjoyed on a long weekend break, and you can even combine it with Jerusalem, which is just an hour away from the capital. For a longer holiday, we recommend combining Israel with Jordan and the Dead Sea.
