Hotel Overview

Where

Jicaro Island Ecolodge is set on one of the isletas in Lake Nicaragua, 20 minutes boat ride from the stunning colonial city of Granada.

Rooms at Jicaro Island Ecolodge

Jicaro has nine two-storey lake-view casitas (think chic wood cabins) that bring the outdoors in via huge windows. The ground floor sitting room opens onto an outdoor deck with an oversized hammock and comfy furniture - all made with Rainforest Alliance-certified hardwoods.

Food and facilities

Whether it is the exceptional food that focuses on traditional Nicaraguan dishes prepared in a healthy way using the best local produce, or the wellness centre, swimming pool, daily yoga classes and warmth of the service, the focus at Jicaro is on wellbeing.

Activities at Jicaro Island Ecolodge

Take it easy: indulge in a treatment or take in the views from the comfort of a hammock or raise the pulse rate with a kayaking or hiking tour to the Mombacho Volcano. You could also go birdwatching or learn to fish the Nicaraguan way, or pop across to Granada for a cultural fix.
