Hotel Overview

Sense of Place

The Viceroy Riviera Maya stretches along the beautiful Caribbean coastline, amidst lush green jungle, overlooking postcard-perfect beaches and sublime turquoise waters.

Rooms at Viceroy Riviera Maya

Meandering paths through the jungle, lit by lanterns at night, lead to the gorgeous private villas. Fusing traditional Mayan design with contemporary luxury, each one comes with a private terrace with a handcarved stone dining table, a plunge pool, an irresistible handmade crochet hammock and an outdoor jungle shower, surrounded by ferns, palms and guava trees, where you can spot spider monkeys hopping from tree to tree.

Inside, you'll find stylish interiors featuring large canopied beds with Egyptian cotton sheets and high ceilings beneath the thatched palapa roofs. The emphasis here is very much on luxury, privacy and seclusion.

Food & Drink

Feast on delicious Mexican and Mediterranean cuisine at the hotel’s two fantastic restaurants, La Marea and the Coral Grill & Bar, while the Library Lounge offers a range of snacks and drinks alongside books to get lost in, and the wine cellar has 500 bottles of wines from around the world as well as boutique Mexican wineries.

You can also dine by the pool, on the beach or in the privacy of your villa, and the chef will create a perfect menu just for you.

Facilities

Viceroy Riviera Maya has a beautiful lagoon pool that looks out to the pristine beach - an idyllic spot for both a refreshing dip and a poolside cocktail in one of the cabanas. The tranquil spa specialises in native Mayan treatments, from massages to herbal therapies, which you can also enjoy on the beach or in your villa.

For a sauna with a difference, make a beeline for the traditional Mayan Temazcal sweat lodge, and for a workout, there is a state-of-the-art fitness centre as well as yoga and Pilates classes.

Activities at Viceroy Riviera Maya

Wander along the seven miles of dreamy sand and unwind and take in the vistas during daily yoga sessions on the beach. Head out on the water for a spot of swimming, snorkelling, diving, kite-surfing and sailing in the pristine waters, or go horse riding or take in a round of golf.

We also recommend visiting Playa del Carmen, which is just ten minutes away, for more beautiful beaches as well as shops, restaurants and buzzing nightlife, and exploring the nearby ancient Mayan cities, including the famous Chichen Itza.
