Hotel Overview

Sense of place

Nizuc feels like its own corner of the earth, set in acres of tropical gardens, backing onto a white sandy beach, and surrounded by a mangrove reserve teeming with wildlife. Combine that with world-class restaurants, bars and spa facilities, and you might find it pretty difficult to leave.

Rooms at Nizuc

Nizuc’s rooms and suites are beautifully designed, with soothing dark colour schemes, Aztec-style rugs and Asian-inspired wooden blinds, set in lush tropical gardens. The Ocean Suites feature a private balcony from which to take in the view of the Caribbean Sea, while Garden Suites have views over the surrounding mangroves, and some suites have their own private pools.

Food & Drink

There’s a range of high-end restaurants to choose from at Nizuc, representing traditions from across the world. The Ramona restaurant offers delicious contemporary takes on classic regional dishes, while at Indochine, there’s a variety of Asian cuisines represented, including Thai and Indonesian, and hearty Mediterranean dishes can be enjoyed at Terra Nostra.

For a post-dinner drink, head to one of the hotel’s stylish lounges. Caribbean rums and Cuban cigars are on offer at the Havana Lounge.

Facilities

Nizuc’s main pool is set around its own bar, meaning you don’t even have to get out of the water to enjoy a mezcal cocktail or local beer. There’s another relaxing pool at the hotel’s spa, a stylish space with a range of therapies on offer. These include a variety of Mayan-inspired treatments, encompassing hydrotherapy, healing stones, aromatic herbs, heated gemstones and agave.

Activities at Nizuc

Outdoorsy types will love Nizuc, and if you’ve had enough of doing nothing in the spa or pool, the hotel’s beach has crystal-clear waters perfect for snorkelling, or you can go paddle boarding. Kayaking is also a great way to explore the coastline, or if that sounds like too much work, take a trip on the hotel’s private yacht.

Further afield, enjoy expert guided tours of Chichen Itza and Tulum. In the evening, enjoy sultry performances of Cuban jazz.
