Hotel Overview

sense of place

The hotel is traditional in style, a rose pink hacienda-style building with stone arches, heavy wooden doors and a pretty, lantern-lit courtyard. From the rooftop terrace, you can gaze out over the Sea of Cortés and the Giganta Mountains, and the beach is just 200 metres away.

rooms at posada de las flores

Rooms and suits are comfortable and luxurious while retaining their traditional hacienda style, with wooden ceiling beams, exposed woodwork in the walls and traditional talavera style tiling in the bathrooms. Each of the rooms is unique, decorated with one-of-a-kind painting by local artists, handmade wooden furniture, and antiques. The architectural style in each of the rooms is a mixture of Mexican and Spanish colonial styles.

food & drink

An extensive complimentary breakfast is served every morning in the rooftop restaurant, The Roof Garden, while there is a tapas restaurant on the ground floor where you can enjoy delicious Mexican small plates. Guests receive a welcome cocktail on arrival. Adding to the traditional colonial feel of the hotel, a complimentary afternoon tea is served daily in the courtyard, between 4 and 6pm.

facilities

As well as the breakfast restaurant, the scenic roof garden is home to a glass-bottomed outdoor pool, where you can enjoy a drink while you look out over the mountains and the ocean. A massage service is also available. Children over 12 are welcome at the hotel.

activities at posada de las flores

A stone’s throw from the beach, Posada de las Flores is a great spot from which to explore the beautiful coastline with kayaking, snorkelling, or trips to the nearby uninhabited islands of Monserrate, Catalina, Coronado, Danzante and Carmen. Sport fishing is also on offer in these bountiful waters, home to marlin, snapper and dorado among many others, and between January and March thousands of whales can be spotted on their migration from the Bering Strait to Baja’s Pacific coast.
