Hotel Overview

Sense of place

Las Lagunas Boutique Hotel sits in dense jungle, surrounded by the natural beauty characteristic of the Peten region. Monkeys, margay tigers, ocelots and wild pigs are among the animals that roam the private reserve, and you can spot them on expert-led wildlife tours every day.

Rooms at Las Lagunas

Las Lagunas’ luxurious suites have a natural style designed to help them blend in with the jungle, with wood-panelled walls and ceilings and stunning views through large floor-to-ceiling windows. The Waterfront Suites overlook the peaceful Quexil Lagoon, while the Master Suites feature their own enclosed decks, where you can enjoy lazing in a Jacuzzi while looking out over the lagoon and jungle below.

Food & Drink

The hotel's restaurant, Shultun, combines fresh local ingredients with gourmet presentation and a sophisticated setting. Dishes encompass Guatemalan and international options, with the speciality being white fish from the adjacent lake, while tuna, beef tenderloin and entrecote are other examples of the delicious dishes on offer. The well-stocked bar offers a variety of beers, wines, spirits and signature cocktails.

Facilities

The spa features a range of indulgent wellness treatments, ranging from traditional massages to aromatherapy, facials and manicures. The gorgeous crescent-shaped infinity pool melts away into the lagoon, and is a lovely place to relax after an afternoon’s wilderness adventures.

Activities at Las Lagunas

The Peten region is home to a large number of Mayan archaeological sites, including Tikal, Uaxactun and Yaxha. Compared to better-known Mayan sites such as Mexico’s Chichen Itza, these attractions are largely free from tourist crowds, so you can really enjoy getting lost in the ruins. A range of nature experiences are also on offer at the hotel, with the most popular being trips to visit the monkeys who live on islands in the lagoon.
