Rafiki Safari Lodge is located on the banks of the Savegre River, 30 km south of Quepos and Manuel Antonio in Costa Rica.

Rooms at Rafiki Safari Lodge

Rafiki’s luxury safari tents, imported from South Africa, are set on hardwood decks, each with comfortable rocking chairs. The large windows bring the sounds and the smells of the forest in, while the canvas walls keep the creepy crawlies and the elements out. The showers are fire heated to take the chill out of the pure spring water.

Food and Facilities

The hotel’s South African owners provide a touch of home with their delicious South African braai (barbeque) cooked on an outside grill, accompanied by side dishes prepared by a professional local chef. The hotel also boasts one of the five fastest waterslides in the world! The waterslide starts from the lodge and speeds down to the pool 100 feet below.

Activities at Rafiki Safari Lodge

Being so close to the Savegre River, white water rafting is a highlight here, with a variety of trips to suit all ability levels, including mini-me rafts that seat only two or three people. Horseback riding, birding, and hiking are also on offer.
