Turtle Inn is nestled among the palm trees near the laid-back creole fishing village of Placencia on the south coast of Belize, a 35 minute flight from Belize City. A perfect hotel base from which to explore the nearby jungle.

The 25 thatched cottages and villas all built on stilts, are within a stone’s throw from the beach. Ranging from cottages for two to two bedroom villas and the three bedroom Family Pavilion with its own pool, there is something for everyone. Each cottage is spacious and airy with Balinese influences throughout, wonderful ornately carved doors, decadent bathrooms with a Japanese tub and a private walled garden with outdoor shower.

If you tire of lying in a hammock with your holiday read, pop on a snorkel and marvel at the sealife or explore the area by bicycle. Trips can be organised to the world’s first jaguar reserve, Cockscomb Basin Wildlife Sanctuary as well as day trips to the nearby Mayan ruins and along the Monkey River. For big fish encounters, visit from February to May when Whalesharks swim on by.
