Hotel Overview

Sense of Place

Lamanai Outpost Lodge is an award-winning jungle lodge on the shores of the 28-mile-long New River Lagoon in the Orange Walk district of northern Belize, amidst the remnants of an ancient Maya city. Accessible only by water, you'll arrive in style by speedboat, accompanied by an expert guide who will point out wildlife along the way.

Rooms at Lamanai Outpost Lodge

The wooden cabanas are built using natural materials and are light, airy, spacious and elegantly rustic, with plenty of character. There are family cabanas too, so there is something for everyone. They have king-sized beds, private bathrooms, mini fridges, air conditioning and a covered veranda that’s perfect for relaxing on after a hectic day of jungle activities.

Food & drink

There’s a variety of choices for breakfast, plus multi-course lunches and dinners, so you certainly won’t go hungry. The food is of an excellent standard and the dishes combine local and international favourites, which you can enjoy alongside the panoramic views of the lagoon and the lush gardens. If you fall in love with the cuisine (and many guests do), learn how to make your own tortillas, including grinding the corn.

Facilities

There is a small library and lounge area for chilling out between adventures.

Activities at Lamanai Outpost Lodge

The lodge’s daily activities are masterminded by the highly experienced and knowledgeable guides. You can look forward to an action-packed day, from dawn jungle tours to sunrise canoe trips, with tours of the Lamanai ruins, Maya medicine trails, and night-time safaris also on offer. Go howler monkey spotting, fish with spears, or jet across the wetlands at sunset on an airboat.
