Hotel Overview

Sense of place

Kings Pavilion sits on top of a hill looking down over the busy town of Kandy. Surrounded by lush vegetation and with only a handful of rooms, this haven blends effortlessly into its natural setting. With the centre of Kandy just a short drive away, this is the perfect spot to relax after a day of cultural exploration.

Rooms at Kings Pavilion

The rooms and suites are airy and spacious, and come with four-poster beds, antique furnishings, soaring wooden vaulted ceilings and decor inspired by Kandyan royalty. Take in the supreme mountain views from your private balcony or unwind in your private garden.

Food & drink

Feast like royalty at the restaurant, serving a mix of traditional Sri Lankan cuisine and international dishes to satisfy the fussiest of eaters. Don’t miss the chef’s “Seafood Kingdom” speciality, which includes the freshest produce from the coast. Choose to sit outside in the peaceful garden or undercover on the terrace with breathtaking views of the Hunnasgiriya Mountain.

Facilities

Being an intimate boutique hotel, Kings Pavilion has the essential facilities required for relaxing after a fascinating day exploring Kandy. Take a dip in the infinity pool, which is set into the edge of the hill and offers uninterrupted views of the valley below. Finish off your day with a relaxing massage or facial at the hotel’s private spa, which also has a sauna.

Activities at Kings Pavilion

You are near Kandy and all its attractions. Kandy is famed for the Temple of the Tooth, a UNESCO World Heritage Site located in the heart of the city and said to house a tooth of the Buddha. Many people pass through the town to visit this site alone.

The Peradeniya botanic gardens are also worth a visit and are home to over 4,000 different plants, renowned for their orchid species, our favourite being the dove orchid, which looks like the orchid has a tiny white dove inside it. Outside of Kandy, try hiking through Udawatta Kele in search of exotic flora and fauna.
