Amanwella is in the heart of Wella Wathura, located in a coconut palm-fringed cove on Sri Lanka’s beautiful southern beaches.

Each suite combines classic Aman contemporary styling with the light and beauty of the resort's natural surroundings. Suites maximise their design impact by providing a fabulous sense of space enhanced by open-plan living. Rooms flow into each other, with sliding screens to add privacy when required. Bathrooms have the wow factor, with free standing contemporary baths and stylish dressing areas and, of course, all have stunning views over the green lush landscape outside the window.

The sense of space is continued outside where large private terraces provide a peaceful private escape, and no luxury suite would be complete with its own private pool! The minimalist design and muted tones provide the perfect sanctuary after a day of lazing on the beach.

Food & Drink

The restaurant at Amanwella serves Mediterranean and Asian-influenced cuisine day and night, including freshly-caught fish and produce from the local markets – with poolside light bites available straight to your sun lounger. Late lunch at the beach club? We can’t resist some fresh fish cooked over a coconut charcoal barbecue with one of Amanwella’s signature sundowners to top it off.

Activities at Amanwella

A wander on the village paths of Tangalle will give a great insight into local village life – where you’ll catch a glimpse of the resident monkeys. The rocky headland provides shelter from the ocean swells to enjoy swimming and snorkelling amongst the tropical marine life while avid surf fans can take to the waves all year round with regular lessons for beginners. You can also go whale watching and explore nearby jungles, where leopards and elephants roam in the national parks.
