Hotel Overview

Sense of Place

Water Garden Sigiriya has a spectacular natural setting surrounded by water and forests, yet is just a few kilometres away from Sigiriya. It’s also near Dambulla and other historic cities in the Cultural Triangle, including Polonnaruwa and Anuradhapura.

Rooms at Water Garden Sigiriya

The stylish and spacious villas sit amongst the streams that meander around the manicured gardens and beyond, and some are partly submerged in the water, integrating with the landscape. They come with four-poster beds and mini-bars, with fresh neutral colour schemes and floor-to-ceiling windows looking out over the countryside. Some come with private gardens, plunge pools and Jacuzzis.

From your sundeck, look out over Sigiriya and watch out for birds and wildlife, including peacocks, kingfishers, egrets, black-headed ibis and grey langur monkeys.

Food & Drink

Choose from a delicious international menu at the restaurant, which features organic cuisine. Alternatively, dine al fresco while enjoying the views, which can also be taken in alongside a cocktail or two from the terrace of the Twin Level Bar. Ask your butler about personalised dining experiences, as well as activities in and around the hotel.

Facilities

There is a pool in an idyllic setting and a fitness centre, while the spa is a tranquil oasis where you can enjoy one of the hotel's signature Balinese massages.

Activities at Water Garden Sigiriya

Try your hand at billiards or archery, or enjoy a guided nature tour or a cycling trip around the lakes.

As well as Sigiriya, there are numerous other gems in the Cultural Triangle to explore. The area is dotted with shrines, monasteries and royal palaces: visit the historic city of Polonnaruwa and the temples and dagobas (stupas) of Anuradhapura, venture into the cave temples of Dambulla, and see the beautiful frescoes at Mihintale, which depict the arrival of Buddhism in Sri Lanka. Meanwhile, further afield, you can see elephants in Minneriya National Park.
