Hotel Overview

Sense of place

The Wallawwa is only 15 minutes from Bandaranaike International Airport but also only 30 minutes from the beaches and fish markets of Negombo and the Muthurajawela Wetlands.

Rooms at The Wallawwa

With graceful original features flavoured by dark woods, floral fabrics and huge beds, the light and airy rooms are incredibly welcoming. All are equipped with window seats, modern amenities and plenty of wardrobe space and have high ceilings. If you’re arriving late and leaving in the morning, opt for the Wallawwa Bedrooms with their king-size Balinese four-poster beds, but if you’re not shooting off, splurge a bit and book the Garden Suite for its private veranda - ideal for leisurely mornings drinking tea and soaking in the peaceful atmosphere.

Food & drink

After some refreshing morning yoga, head to The Verandah, which serves all-day dishes and a la carte dinner menus. Presenting international cuisine with an Asia twist, snuggle into the smart rattan furniture and make sure to try the coconut and mustard seed fish or the cashew and green pea curry.

Facilities

Hidden out of sight of the hotel and enclosed by tropical gardens, the 16m swimming pool provides a refreshing corner during the hottest hours of the day. When it gets cooler, take part in a game of croquet and badminton or set up the Monopoly or carrom board in the garden and while away the hours under the frangipani-shaded terrace.

Activities at The Wallawwa

Rest after your long journey in the comfort of the glorious surroundings, whether that’s having a shiatzu floor massage in the sensational Z Spa, swimming in the outdoor pool, trying out some yoga moves in the pavilions or simply vegging on the beautiful Balinese bed found in your spacious room.
