Hotel Overview

Sense of Place

Paradise Road Tintagel Colombo has a perfect location - addresses don’t come more desirable in Colombo than Cinnamon Gardens, a gentrified district of the city home to stately embassies, leafy cricket grounds and impressive mansions, not to mention some great art galleries.

Rooms at Paradise Road Tintagel Colombo

With just ten luxurious suites, the Tintagel has an intimate, small-scale atmosphere. All of them are appointed in a traditional colonial style, which pays tribute to the hotel's history while exhibiting modern standards of comfort and luxury.

There’s extensive use of rich, dark wood throughout, from the floorboards to the four-poster beds, while the large bathrooms are decked out in emerald tiles. All suites feature Wi-Fi, Nespresso machines, and LCD TVs with DVD players, and a library of DVDs for you to enjoy on request.

Food & Drink

The main restaurant is the Dining Room, where an ever-changing menu of delicious Sri Lankan and international cuisine is served throughout the day. Start the day with a traditional breakfast of Sri Lankan coffee, fresh tropical fruit and hoppers (rice and coconut pancakes) with curry. Lunch and dinner see a wide range of international offerings, from local curries to pasta dishes and more, accompanied by a long wine list and a selection of creative cocktails.

Food can also be enjoyed al fresco at the Courtyard, or in a private dining room. For a pre or post-dinner drink, the atmospheric Red Bar offers a wide selection of wine and other drinks.

Facilities

The first-floor gym contains everything you’ll need to keep on top of your workout routine, including weights and cardio equipment. Having earned a rest, make for the relaxing spa, where a range of massage treatments are on offer, or go for a dip in the lap pool, surrounded by sculptures by a local artist. There’s also a cosy library where you can choose from a wide selection of books.

Activities at Paradise Road Tintagel Colombo

Colombo’s long and colourful history has seen it captured and re-captured by various empires, and occupy a prime position on important trading routes, all of which lends it an attractive melting-pot character. Learn more about it at the brilliant-white National Museum, before checking out the Dutch Hospital complex and Dutch Period Museum, both monuments to one of the city’s defining eras.

Afterwards, take a break and watch the city go by in one of its major parks, such as Galle Face Green or Viharamahadevi. Art lovers, meanwhile, should be sure to check out the Lionel Wendt Art Centre and the National Art Gallery, both near the hotel in Cinnamon Gardens.
