Hotel Overview

Sense of place

The Sukoon Houseboat cruises on Dal Lake in Kashmir, framed by the majestic snow-capped Pir Panjal Mountains.

Rooms on Sukoon Houseboat

The cabins are all wood panelling and turquoise wall hangings, and are ultra-spacious for a houseboat. They all have bathrooms with a bath and shower, and wide windows that offer beautiful views over the lake.

Food & drink

Dine on lip-smacking Kashmiri and Keralan specialities in the elegant dining room, or under a canopy of stars on the roof terrace. Take in the views of the incredible mountains and boats gliding along the water as you sip cocktails on the rooftop terrace.

The Sukoon Houseboat provides plenty of spaces for relaxing, from the large living room to the sundeck, which commands 360-degree views of the lake. Relax here with a good book on one of the sunloungers beneath the shade of a parasol, looking out over the lake and watching shikara boats going back and forth.

Activities on Sukoon Houseboat

Potter around Dal Lake on a traditional shikara boat to soak up the lakeside lifestyle, and peer into the water to admire the pretty water lilies that grow here. Don’t miss the fruit and vegetable market in Srinagar's Old Town, which is held every morning, where you can also go on a walk through and navigate narrow alleyways, Islamic bridges and the Shah Hamdan Mosque - one of the oldest in Srinagar, it dates back to 1395.
