Hotel Overview

Sense of place

The Ananda Spa is set in 100 acres of virgin forest in the grounds of a Maharajah’s palace, a few miles north of Rishikesh.

Rooms at Ananda Spa

The elegant rooms, suites and villas are built in a colonial hill architectural style and blend seamlessly into the natural surrounding landscape. Each room offers sweeping views of the valley or nearby palace and has a private balcony or garden.

For a bit more space, consider the Garden Suites, with their own secluded gardens, or the Ananda Villa, with its private sauna, swimming pool and large living room.

Food & drink

Not just taking taste into consideration but also suitability for different body types, the meals served at the hotel includes a combination of Indian and western cuisine, with a strong focus on traditional techniques. The menu changes every few months so you can expect local, organic and seasonal produce used in the preparation of the light and healthy dishes. For guests on a wellness programme, menus will be prepared as per Ayurvedic principles for body types Vata, Pitta and Kapha.

Facilities

The expansive 25,000sq ft spa has 24 treatment rooms, an outdoor temperature-controlled swimming pool and divine hydrotherapy facilities, as well as an incredible menu of more than 80 body and beauty treatments, which range from traditional Indian Ayurvedic systems to more modern western approaches. To relieve any aches and pains, try the 30-minute Ananda Touch, which is a back, neck and scalp massage with a blend of sunflower and wheatgerm oil.

A team of wellness therapists and experts in fitness in nutrition are on hand to help you make the most of your stay.

Activities at Ananda Spa

Slide into your kurta pyjamas (provided in your room) and immediately begin your wellness holiday, choosing from the list of programmes, such as weight management, detox, rejuvenation and stress management.

In between your yoga and meditation sessions, you can go whitewater rafting and mountain trekking, and enjoy wild elephant viewing in the nearby Rajaji and Chilla national parks, or simply unwind in the Tree Top Deck, taking in the fresh mountain air.
