Heritage Madurai

In the heart of the 2,500-year-old city of Madurai, with temples nearby. According to legend, Madurai grew from drops of nectar that flowed from the locks of Shiva.

Take a dip in the beautiful pool, which was designed to replicate the temple tank of the Thirumalai Temple, and unwind with a yoga class or a Swedish or Ayurvedic massage in the spa, accompanied by soothing music and aromatic herbal teas.


Browse the local shops, selling spices and antiques, and visit the Thirumalai Nayakar Mahal palace, with its carved dome, and the impressive 17^th-century Meenakshi Amman Temple, a complex covering six hectares, with several towers, or gopurams, displaying thousands of colourful carvings of gods, goddesses, demons and heroes.
