Hotel Overview

Sense of place

Ramathra Fort is in the Karauli district of Rajasthan.

Rooms at Ramathra Fort

The accommodation options include rooms with open courtyards overlooking the valley (some rooms can interconnect, making them ideal for families), suites with private terraces and outdoor terracotta bathtubs, and luxury tents set against the fort’s rampart walls, each with its own stone bathroom, and surrounded by lush courtyard lawns.

They come with four-poster beds, custom-made furnishings, handwoven rugs, traditional Karauli stone fireplaces and fantastic views over the Daang plateau, the gorges and Kalisil Lake – don’t miss the sunsets.

Food & drink

The restaurant offers tempting traditional cuisine, using farm-fresh produce. How about a scenic picnic lunch by the lake or a candlelit dinner atop the rampart walls? Learn how to make your favourite dishes with a cooking demonstration, and retreat to the bar or lounge for a refreshing drink and some premium relaxation.

Facilities

Unwind with a performance of traditional Bhajan singing and entertainment, or relax with an expert massage or a soak in the Jacuzzi on a turret top, as you take in the panoramic countryside views.

Activities at Ramathra Fort

Enjoy visits to local forts and the Shiva temple nearby, as well as guided nature walks and jeep safaris, allowing you to immerse yourself in rural India - see local villages and meet the local farmers as they work on the land. This is also a great opportunity to do some wildlife spotting. Tigers are rare, but you can regularly spot deer, jackals and hyenas, and occasionally a bear or leopard. There are plenty of photo stops to give you a chance to capture that perfect picture.

You can also borrow a bicycle and explore the surroundings on two wheels, and out on the water, a leisurely boat trip on the lake is a must - keep your eye out for a wide variety of birds, and even crocodiles.
