Hotel Overview

Sense of place

Perched on a hilltop overlooking the town of Delwara, Raas Devigarh is a palatial property encapsulating the grandeur and rich history of Rajasthan, with sweeping views over the Aravalli Hills.

Rooms at Raas Devigarh

Garden Suites overlook the most beautiful of the palace’s gardens, with a private tent-covered terrace from which you can enjoy the view, while Palace Suites are grand and elegant in their design, with marble columns and arches inset with semi-precious stones and the work of local artists adorning the walls. The luxurious Aravalli Suites overlook the Aravalli Hills and the black marble Kamal Courtyard, and the Devigarh Suite offers your own sun deck and Jacuzzi, as well as a private black marble pool.

Food and drink

Raas Devigarh makes the most of its unique setting, with numerous beautiful locations where guests can enjoy diverse local and international cuisine. The restaurant, decorated with paintings of Devigarh’s rulers past, offers great views over the Aravalli Hills, and the atmospheric Sheesh Mahal, in a part of the palace once used by kings to entertain their guests, is a great spot to enjoy a traditional Indian meal. The open-air Janana Courtyard, home to a beautiful fountain, is the place to go for local delicacies, with bonfires keeping you warm in the winter.

Facilities

At the Ila Spa – an old Sanskrit word meaning natural energy – Indian produce like tuberose from Himachal Pradesh and jasmine from Tamil Nadu is harnessed to provide a range of natural spa treatments. Traditional Indian music provides the soundtrack to Marma massage, chakra therapies and herbal poultice treatments. There’s also an exercise room, an outdoor pool, a hot tub and, if things weren’t feeling colonial enough, a croquet lawn.

Activities

Lying nearby are the ruins of the 10th-century Sahastra Bahu Temples, dedicated to the Hindu god Vishnu, as well as the historic village of Delwara, known as the ‘town of the gods’ for its abundance of Hindu and Jain temples. Not to be missed is a trip to Udaipur, the City of Lakes, a beautiful Rajasthani city home to the largest palace complex in the state home to some beautiful bodies of water; Lake Pichola and Lake Fateh Sagar are great for a sunset boat ride.
