Hotel Overview

Sense of place

Located in the scenic Jambulne jungle, about 17km from Lonavla.

Rooms at The Machan

Making you feel like a squirrel-human hybrid, the four treehouses - Heritage, Canopy Forest & Sunset – are set 30 to 45 feet above the forest and offer serene accommodation sequestered in nature. Each machan has been carefully designed to minimize any impact on nature so expect to see trees branching up through the floor, bathtubs placed outdoors, and rooms with wraparound glass walls.
Built around a wild fig tree and hanging over the edge of a precipice, the Heritage Machan is perfect for groups and families, as it offers a ‘hanging room’, a loft with views towards the mountain peak in the east, and a ‘crow’s nest’ with 360 degree views of Jambulne.

Food and drink

Served buffet-style, breakfast and lunch is served outdoors underneath the tree canopy, while dinner is a more romantic affair with candle-lit tables, a camp fire to keep you warm and great star gazing opportunities - devoid of light pollution, keep your eye out for the various constellations and planets such as: Cassiopeia, Andromeda, Orion, Venus and Mars.

Facilities

Helping you fully detox, visit the spa, which is hidden in the woods, for a full body aroma massage or a reinvigorating facial.

Activities at The Machan

As the property is spread across 25 acres of wildlife and botanical-rich land and has 4km of private paths, explore the fenced in jungle to spot exotic flowers, fruit bearing trees, rabbits, mongoose, porcupines, grey langurs, barking deer and a variety of seasonal birds.
