Hotel Overview

Sense of place

Vismaya sits on the edge of a peninsula, surrounded by three sides of the serene Vembanad Lake, about an hour south of Cochin.

Rooms at Vismaya

There are just two rooms, set in large gardens full of ancient trees and swaying coconut palms. Inside, you’ll find elegant period furnishings, intricate carved woodwork that is a showcase of traditional Keralan craftsmanship, and private al fresco bathrooms (or ‘bath gardens’) where you can shower under the stars. Relax on your veranda, or in a swing or a hammock, overlooking the lake, and watch the fishermen out on the water as they bring in the catch of the day.

Food & drink

From fresh seafood to Italian dishes to delicious vegetarian fare, enjoy traditional Keralan cuisine with a European twist, and choose where to eat it – on the veranda, by the pool, in the gardens, or on the white sands by the lake – or how about a romantic candlelit dinner on the jetty?

Facilities

Have a refreshing dip in the granite infinity swimming pool, and for even more pampering, there’s an Ayurvedic centre ten minutes away, where you can treat yourself to a relaxing Ayurvedic massage.

Activities at Vismaya

Enjoy a boat ride on the lake, and if you can drag yourself away from Vismaya, one of the best ways to experience Kerala is to meander down its tranquil backwaters in a traditional houseboat.
