Hotel Overview

Sense of Place

Despite The Oberoi’s central location, it feels like it’s in a little world of its own thanks to five acres of wooded gardens. The greenery continues next door in the form of the Delhi Golf Course, while the Lodhi Gardens nearby are the city’s best public park.

Rooms at The Oberoi, New Delhi

The rooms and suites at The Oberoi exhibit all the luxurious touches we’ve come to expect from the brand, from beautiful oak furniture to teak floors and opulent bathrooms carved from Italian marble, and the interiors are inspired by the New Delhi architecture of Edwin Lutyens. Plush cushions and furnishings are embroidered with motifs representing the mythical concept of the Tree of Life, while photographs of Delhi’s ancient monuments adorn the brightly-coloured walls and the lavish bathrooms are clad in Italian marble.

Through large floor-to-ceiling windows the rooms overlook either the rolling greenery of Delhi Golf Course or Humayun’s Tomb, one of the city’s great Mughal monuments.

Food & Drink

Dining at The Oberoi is an international affair, with several restaurants serving cuisine from across the world. Threesixty offers Japanese, European, Thai and Indian food, with open kitchens where chefs prepare sizzling curries, fresh sushi and more.

Omya is the hotel’s flagship Indian restaurant, with dishes on offer from across the dazzling array of the country’s cuisines. The lavish rooftop restaurant Baoshuan, meanwhile, is the setting for delicious Chinese food, under the tutelage of Michelin-starred chef Andrew Wong. Enjoy a drink or two at the rooftop bar, Cirrus9, and visit the impressive wine cellar, Enoteca, which offers a wide range of wines and champagnes. You can also take advantage of 24-hour in-room dining and a 24-hour butler service, so you don't have to lift a finger.

Facilities

The Zen-like Oberoi Spa, decked out in marble and rich oak, is a beautifully relaxing space whose treatments draw on Ayurveda, aromatherapy, and other ancient wellness traditions. There are private treatment rooms with relaxation areas and aromatic steam showers, and some suites even have their own gyms and therapy rooms.

The hotel also has an infra-red sauna, indoor and outdoor swimming pools, and a state-of-the-art 24-hour fitness centre, with a personal trainer on hand to make sure you get the most out of your workouts.

Activities at The Oberoi, New Delhi

The Oberoi is perfectly located for exploring the many historic and cultural sights of the Indian capital. A good place to start is Humayun’s Tomb, which can be seen from the hotel. Dating back to the 16th century, this remarkable mausoleum is dedicated to the memory of a Mughal emperor. Another Mughal relic not to be missed is the mighty Red Fort, while the Jama Masjid, the country’s largest mosque, is as impressive as you would expect.
