Hotel Overview

Sense of place

Sitting in the forests of Baihar and overlooking Kanha National Park and Tiger Reserve, Singinawa Jungle Lodge is all about immersion in the surrounding wilderness. Staff are friendly and welcoming and include expert naturalists who will teach you about the region’s wildlife.

Rooms at Singinawa Jungle Lodge

Accommodation at Singinawa Jungle Lodge is spread across 12 uniquely designed cottages, each featuring a private veranda and fireplaces. The cottages stand alone and are surrounded by the forest.

You can also stay in the larger Perch, which has four bedrooms which can either be booked individually or taken as a whole by a larger group. A shared lounge-dining room, complete with its own library, is situated between the two bedroom wings, and the Perch also has its own kitchen, chef and butler, who will serve up dishes which can be enjoyed in the shade of the giant sal tree or adjoining courtyards.

Food & drink

Singinawa Jungle lodge features a grand dining area where a variety of home-cooked international and regional cuisine is served, with traditional Indian dishes a speciality. Most of the fresh vegetables are organically and responsibly sourced from nearby villages.

Facilities

At the Meadow Spa, a range of holistic Indian and Oriental treatments are on offer which are a great way to recharge after a day out in the wilderness. There’s also a beautiful outdoor pool.

The hotel even has its own museum, the grandly-named Museum of Life and Art, which showcases the art and culture of indigenous Gond and Baiga people.

Activities at Singinawa Jungle Lodge

Singinawa’s expert in-house naturalists will teach you about the rich wildlife which populates the area. Jeep safaris are a great way to get to know the inhabitants of Kanha National Park, including Bengal tigers, leopards, wolves and sloth bears.

The lodge is committed to protection of local people, and you can do your bit by inviting two children from the Kohoka village as guests with you on safaris into the park – an experience which they normally never get the chance to have despite this area being their home. You can also visit the village yourself and get to know the local people, visiting them in their homes and watching them produce pottery and handicrafts.
