Hotel Overview

Sense of Place

The various routes which RV Orient Pandaw travels all include the mighty River Ganges, the lifeblood of India, taking in tranquil scenery and bustling, modern cities as you go along. The variety of cruises include stops at iconic Indian destinations including Calcutta, the unspoilt countryside of West Bengal, and the ancient temples of Baranagar.

Rooms onboard RV Orient Pandaw

The luxurious cabins are generously sized and decked out from floor to ceiling in rich teak wood panels, which, combined with the vintage light fittings and traditional artworks on the walls, gives them an air of colonial sophistication.

The beds are supremely comfortable and feature premium mattresses, while each cabin opens onto a veranda deck, where you can sit in wicker chairs and gaze out over the river. The private bathrooms feature natural stone showers and deluxe amenities, while there are kimonos and slippers for you to relax in.

Food & drink

In the stylish wood-panelled bar and dining room, an international team of expert chefs serves up a rotating menu of Indian, Asian and global dishes. Breakfast takes the form of a semi-buffet, with cooked options available to order as well as a wide variety of fresh fruit, pastries, bread and more, while lunch has similar format.

Dinner is the main event, with lavish multi-course offerings beginning each night with a round of canapés and cocktails. The seafood is particularly acclaimed, while there’s a long wine list to accompany your food. The bar is open 24 hours a day.

Facilities

Onboard facilities include a sun deck, where you can relax with a drink in hand and take in views over the river and stunning Indian countryside, while there’s also a library, a boutique, and an art gallery exhibiting the work of local artists.

Activities onboard RV Orient Pandaw

Activities centre around the saloon bar, where there’s nightly music and dance performances, and educational multimedia talks are given in the lecture room, to help you learn more about the fascinating destinations you’ll be visiting. Cooking classes are also on offer, so you can take away some of the secrets of delicious Indian cuisine.

There are also opportunities to explore the scenery you're passing through - mountain bikes are available for you to borrow and discover the towns and countryside at your leisure.
