The resort is located one mile west of Trongsa village (literally meaning “new village”), which is seen as the entry point for exploring the east of the kingdom.

The hotel’s 21 spacious guestrooms are elegantly designed with traditional Bhutanese décor, wooden flooring and astounding views from the resort’s idyllic location on a terraced hillside. Some offer private balconies and a splendid view of the Trongsa Dzong.

Food and Facilities

The hotel serves up excellent Indian food, or guests can choose from a locally-inspired menu, with classic Bhutanese dishes such as the fiery combo of chilli and cheese. Candles and incredible views make for a magical dining experience.

Activities at Yangkhil Resort

Enjoy the view from the hotel’s large patio, overlooking the beautiful flower garden, fish pond and giant prayer wheel, or visit the town’s sacred Trongsa Dzong. Dating back to 1644, its magnificent architecture is said to resemble a flying dragon, presiding over the village from its hilltop location. Further afield, the Bumthang district is home to some of the kingdom’s most cherished countryside; the Choekor Valley in particular is renowned for its outstanding scenery, and is located just two hours away.
