Hotel Overview

Sense of Place

Shanti Maurice Resort & Spa has a gorgeous and serene beachfront setting on the west coast of Mauritius, not far from waterfalls and lagoons, as well as local villages. It is just a short drive from the 18-hole Avalon Golf Estate, fragrant tea plantations, and its own coral reserve in the Indian Ocean.

Rooms at Shanti Maurice Resort & Spa

The luxurious suites and villas are among the biggest on the island, with features such as floor-to-ceiling windows and state-of-the-art entertainment systems, and the villas come with private pools, spacious terraces and adjoining private leafy courtyards. On the ground floor, guests can step straight out onto the private beach, while on upper levels the private balconies are perfect spaces to relax and contemplate the ocean.

Food & Drink

Enjoy tasty cuisine in a range of postcard-perfect locations, from casual beach barbecues and freshly-grilled seafood by the sea to traditional Mauritian and Indian Ocean favourites and delicious Asian specialities, and there are plenty of light and healthy options on offer too. The expertly-prepared dishes make the most of fresh ingredients grown in the resort's own gardens. If you like the food, you can take a cooking class to recreate your favourite flavours back home.

In the evening, end the day in style with rum cocktails in the traditional-style Rum Shed.

Facilities

Even by Indian Ocean standards, the impressive spa is huge, covering 75,000 square feet, and melds Indian Ayurvedic practices with state-of-the-art modern treatments. Guests have the opportunity to work with nutritionists, personal trainers, yoga masters and Ayurvedic physicians to set up a personalised treatment plan to enhance their mental, physical and spiritual wellbeing. There are also several pools, including an infinity pool and a Jacuzzi.

Activities at Shanti Maurice Resort & Spa

The wide range of activities include non-motorised water sports, running and hiking. There’s an architect-designed golf course, floodlit tennis courts with top-class coaching, and opportunities for deep-sea fishing, scuba diving, water-skiing and windsurfing.
