The resort's contemporary design fuses traditional Maldivian style and natural materials with modern luxury to provide wow-factor accommodation. There are bungalows, villas and suites on the beach, nestled amongst the coconut palms and tropical gardens, which sit right on the fine white sand and have private beachfront terraces. The thatched-roof overwater villas offer the ultimate romantic getaway or family retreat, with private sundecks and direct lagoon access, and there’s even a four-bedroom villa for a grand getaway with family or friends.

Activities at Vakkaru

Guests with a passion for the underwater world can scuba dive with accredited PADI dive instructors or even join an expedition with an expert marine biologist.

Back on dry land, grab a bicycle to circumnavigate the island's tropical interior on two wheels. Meanwhile, younger guests will love the extensive facilities at the children's clubs, and tailored activities include visits to nearby islands and traditional Maldivian pole fishing. For a dose of culture, visit the nearby island of Thulhaadhoo, where locals still create traditional lacquer artefacts which were historically made for the country’s noble families.
