Hotel Overview

Sense of Place

The Residence Maldives sits in an idyllic spot on the beautiful southern island of Falhumaafushi, fringed by the Indian Ocean in the Gaafu Alifu Atoll, one of the world's largest and deepest atolls.

Rooms at the The Residence Maldives

The Residence has been designed to blend in with the surroundings, and fuses traditional Maldivian architecture with contemporary luxury, including bespoke furnishings, plush fabrics and local artworks, as well as 40-inch LED TVs and bespoke bathrooms, all under a traditional thatched roof.

The one and two-bedroom villas around the island sit on the beachfront and over the water, all offering panoramic 360-degree views of the perfect white sand and the sparkling waters of the Indian Ocean. Take a dip in your private pool and enjoy the sunset from your deck. If there's anything you need, your butler is at your service.

Food & Drink

Tuck into a wide range of cuisine from all corners of the globe, including fresh seafood, in the scenic restaurants. The Dining Room is on the beach, overlooking the lagoon, and The Falhumaa sits over the reef at the end of a private jetty.

After a swim, enjoy complimentary fruit and snacks by the pool, and sip tropical cocktails at the Beach Bar as the sun goes down.

Facilities

Unwind in the indulgent spa, which  has over-water pavilions looking out on the lagoon. You also won't be able to resist the beautiful infinity pool, which extends onto the beachfront.

There's a kids club (for children aged 3 to 12), which offers daily activities and games, as well as a library with a wide range of books, DVDs and board games.

Activities at The Residence Maldives

Laze on the sun-kissed beaches, try some yoga with a complimentary class, go snorkelling or kayaking, and dive to the depths of the Indian Ocean - there is a PADI 5-star dive centre, with two dhoni sailboats, and the marine life here is dazzling.

Around the island and beyond, borrow one of the hotel's bikes to explore, visit a local village, and enjoy some idyllic island hopping.
