Hotel Overview

Sense of place

The Nautilus sits on an island in the Maldives’ Baa Atoll, a UNESCO Biosphere Reserve famed for its natural beauty and diversity. This is a stereotypical desert island retreat, with perfect palm-fringed beaches leading down to azure seas which lap over coral reefs.

Rooms at The Nautilus

Accommodation at The Nautilus includes gorgeous Beach Houses, which open out onto the sand, and Ocean Houses, which are perched above the lagoon. From a distance, they have a traditional look, with their thatched conical roofs and wooden exteriors: inside, however, they’re the epitome of beachfront luxury, with plush beds, sofas and rugs, and separate living rooms appointed in a mid-century modern style. The bathrooms, decked out in gold-hued tiles, are particularly glamorous. Should you fancy a change of scene from the pristine beach, indulge in your private pool, overlooking the ocean.

There are also one and two-bedroom Beach and Ocean Residences, plus the opulent three-bedroom Nautilus Retreat, which are perfect for families or just enjoying even more luxury, privacy and space.

Food & drink

The Nautilus is home to three diverse restaurants, serving up a variety of dishes which offer something for all tastes. The flagship fine dining restaurant serves up Mediterranean and Arabic food in an elegant setting, while the grill is a more informal space where you can enjoy food from Latin America, Asia and beyond. Even more casual is the all-day dining restaurant, a cosy venue where seafood grills, pancakes and more are on offer - you’re even invited to have a go at cooking in the kitchens yourself. At sunset, enjoy canapés and cocktails by the pool.

Dining isn’t limited to the restaurants, and you’re welcome to eat on the beach or in the comfort of your own room if you wish.

Facilities

Just being surrounded by the atmosphere of The Nautilus is infinitely relaxing, but to take it to the next level, head to the spa for a range of indulgent wellness treatments. Classic massage therapies are on offer alongside fitness classes and yoga and meditation courses, whether you’re a complete beginner or a seasoned yogi.

Activities at The Nautilus

A range of activities is on offer at the resort to help you make the most of the natural beauty of the Baa Atoll. There’s a scuba centre, so you can explore the technicolour underwater world or even learn to dive, while fishing, sunset cruises on the hotel's private yacht and a variety of water sports are also options. All non-motorised water sports are included in the price your stay, while snorkelling equipment is also available for all guests so you can explore the reefs at your leisure.

If you have the family in tow, the playground will keep children occupied while parents enjoy some well-deserved downtime, and you can all enjoy catching a film at the open-air cinema.
