Hotel Overview

Sense of Place

Milaidhoo Island has a stunning location in the Baa Atoll, near Hanifaru Bay.

Rooms at Milaidhoo Island

The light and spacious villas are simply beautiful, with panoramic views and stylish interiors with bespoke furnishings inspired by traditional Maldivian style, king-sized beds, flatscreen TVs and inviting bathrooms with soaking tubs, under a traditional thatched roof.

The Water Pool Villas sit on stilts over the sea, with steps into the ocean, and have tropical rainshowers with glass walls offering a unique view of the sea below. In the Beach Pool Villas, right on the sand, nestled amongst the palm trees, there are open-air garden showers and part of the interior opens up to the outside, to make the most of the beach and sea on your doorstep.

Cool off in the private freshwater pool on your sundeck, in your Maldivian swing (an undhoali), or on your outsize day bed, with a refreshing drink from your oversize bar or private wine fridge.

Splash out on a spectacular two-bedroom Ocean Residence, at the end of an over-water jetty, to enjoy a ‘secret’ rooftop loft deck with beautiful views, a private outdoor cinema and the services of your very own butler.

Food & Drink

As well as daily fresh fruit and water in your villa, there are three restaurants and two bars to choose from. There’s the Shoreline Grill on the beach, or dine with a difference at the signature restaurant, Ba’theli, designed like a boat and sitting on the stunning lagoon, to enjoy gourmet island cuisine inspired by fresh seafood and spices traded on the ancient spice routes. The food is served on deck, beneath starry skies, or indoors, where you can watch the sea life through the glass floors.

In the evening, enjoy cocktails and wood-fired pizzas by the infinity pool at the Compass Pool Bar.

Facilities

There may be water all around you, but the infinity pool is still irresistible, and there’s also a spa with four over-water treatment villas offering treatments inspired by local herbs and plants and incorporating African healing traditions. If you’re not relaxed enough already, take advantage of the daily yoga and meditation classes on the over-water open-air pavilion.

Activities at Milaidhoo Island

Relaxing on the beach, swimming, snorkelling and diving are all on the menu – where you’ll share the balmy waters with tropical fish, turtles, manta rays and maybe a shark or two. The hotel's resident marine biologists run programmes giving you the opportunity to shadow them and find out more about their work and the exotic marine life around these shores.

You can also head off in a traditional Maldivian sailing boat to explore the coral reefs, local villages and deserted islands, where you can have a private picnic on a secluded beach. Make the most of the sunsets with a luxury sunset cruise, spotting dolphins from the deck as you enjoy champagne and canapés onboard.
