Rooms at Gilpin Hotel

Having retained its Georgian charms, the hotel provides a timeless balance between the old and new in the heart of the Cumbrian countryside. The country-chic bedrooms and suites, including deluxe Garden Suites, are each lavishly furnished with woven rugs, wool throws and textured wallpaper. The Garden Suites have large open-plan bedrooms and lounges, with private decking areas and submerged hot tubs.

There are also luxurious and secluded cedar-clad Spa Lodges, each with a private spa, a treatment area, a steam room, a stone bath and rainshower and an outdoor sauna and hydrotherapy tub, all surrounded by a serene walled garden with beautiful views over the Lake District moors.

Food & Drink

The Michelin-starred HRiSHi restaurant serves up classic Lake District dishes with a twist, while the laid-back Gilpin Spice restaurant has an open kitchen producing delicious tapas-style pan-Asian dishes inspired by countries on the Spice Trail, from China to Japan.

Start with sundowners and canapés on the terrace, followed by a delicious main course that has been paired with one of the 200 wines in the hotel’s cellar. End the evening by the fire with a lip-smacking after-dinner cocktail.
