Hotel Overview

Sense of Place

Brandon Lodge has a beautiful and remote setting on an island about 35 minutes to the north of Lulea by the frozen sea. Experience a truly idyllic, magical scene in the winter months, looking out over snow-covered forests, the islands of the Lulea archipelago and the Bay of Bothnia - perfect for enjoying the stunning sunsets and the ethereal Northern Lights - while in the summer you can witness the Midnight Sun.

Rooms at Brandon Lodge

There are 15 secluded modern log cabins with authentic Scandinavian decor, facing towards the sea and the Lulea archipelago. They have two bedrooms, a lounge, a bathroom and a covered porch to take in the views.

Food & Drink

Start your day with a Scandinavian-style breakfast in the restaurant, which is located on the upper floor of the lodge, giving you a panoramic view of the bay. A variety of local and international dishes is on offer in the evening, served as a buffet, which you can accompany with a glass of wine or a beer. Ingredients like wild game, berries and fish, mostly locally sourced, are innovatively combined into delicious creations. Self-catering options are also available.

Facilities

There are large tepee tents and several relaxation and sauna cabins for you to unwind in. As well as the restaurant, the main building also has lounges and a relaxation area.

Activities at Brandon Lodge

See the breathtaking Northern Lights on a walk or a guided tour, or have dinner as they dance across the sky. Go on an exhilarating snowmobile tour, searching for the Northern Lights while your guide teaches you about this natural phenomenon, surrounded by sea, forest and wildlife.

Other ways to enjoy this spectacular wilderness include dog-sledding, fishing with a local fisherman, having dinner on the ice, going on a seal-watching safari, reindeer encounters, boat trips to nearby islands, rafting, kayaking, and more. Take an outdoor cooking class and learn how to make traditional dishes using local ingredients, see the historic village of Gammelstad, discover over 400 wooden houses huddled around the early 15th-century stone church or visit the Boden Fortress.

In the summer there is a sand beach to relax at or do some yoga on, and a small harbour where you can set sail to explore the archipelago - and at this time of year you can also see the Midnight Sun and experience its long, bright nights.
