Hotel Overview

Sense of place

Ett Hem means ‘at home’ in Swedish, and it’s an apt name. The hotel has been renovated to update its original personality to standards of modern luxury, and radiates class and elegance as well as a homely atmosphere.

Rooms at Ett Hem

Just like the building they’re housed in, Ett Hem’s rooms are elegant and traditional, with elegantly simple furnishings, extensive use of marble and a muted colour palette of greys, whites and golds. Swedish materials like oak, Gotland stone and sheepskin are used throughout, with many rooms and suites featuring unique features like cast iron stoves and fireplaces.

Food and drink

Food at Ett Hem has a homely feel, served in the kitchen just as if you were a guest in someone’s home, or in the library if you’d prefer a more formal dining atmosphere. The Greenhouse, overlooking the garden, is also a great place to enjoy breakfast. There’s a daily-changing menu based on using fresh local produce, and you’re welcome to help themselves to snacks and drinks in the kitchen as you please – just like at home.

Facilities

Ett Hem has a state-of-the-art gym, with weights and cardio areas, 24/7 access and personal trainers available on request. There’s also a spa area, with a traditional Swedish sauna and a hot stone slab where you can relax post-workout. There are three running tracks near the hotel which merge into a 9km forest trail.

Activities at Ett Hem

A cycling tour is a great way to get to know Stockholm in the summer months. Gamla Stan, Stockholm's Old Town, is a 25-minute walk away, as is Fotografiska, one of the world’s largest collections of contemporary photography. Other cultural highlights include the Spiritmuseum, a shrine to the city’s relationship with booze (complete with ‘hangover room’) and Moderna Museet, which includes modern art masterpieces by the likes of Picasso, Dali and Warhol.
