Hotel Overview

Sense of place

Salt & Sill floats in the Skagerrak strait off the island of Kladesholmen on Sweden’s west coast.

Rooms at Salt & Sill

The stylish rooms and suites are each named after a herb or spice, with a corresponding colour scheme. They have stunning sea views over the Bohuslan archipelago, best enjoyed from your private deck or roof terrace, and after a peaceful night’s sleep, you can just climb down the ladder into the water for a refreshing morning swim in the Skagerrak.

Food & drink

Feast on the signature herring dish (Kladesholmen is known as ‘herring island’) in Salt & Sill’s award-winning restaurant, whose innovative menu makes the most of seasonal produce from both the coast and the sea, combining Swedish classics with contemporary flair. Other dishes include beef fillet with smoked sour cream, a crayfish ceviche with cucumber mayonnaise and Salt & Sill’s own take on traditional fish and chips, which come with pickled vegetables.

Eat, drink and relax on the sundeck, accompanied by the unrivalled sea vistas, as boats pass by and seagulls fly overhead.

Facilities

Unwind in style in the lounge or the unique sauna – the sauna boat, SS Silla, is moored alongside the hotel, and is a catamaran with two floors including a sauna, whirlpool tubs and a relaxation area. You can also stay on the SS Silla overnight.

Activities at Salt & Sill

Make the most of this stunning natural environment by cycling to Skarhamn, home to the lovely Nordic Watercolour Museum, or heading out on a kayak in the archipelago’s crystal clear waters, to explore secluded coves.
