Regions in Spain

A tailor-made holiday in Spain means visiting must-see cities like Madrid and Barcelona and, with its whitewashed buildings and cobbled streets, exploring the Spain you’ve always dreamed of in Andalucia. Meanwhile head to the Balearic Islands - Mallorca, Ibiza or Formentera - to relax on beaches on the edge of the Mediterranean Sea and stay in tiny villages surrounded by ancient olive groves. Combining a stay in one or two of Spain's cities with a few nights in the Balearics works particularly well too.

The capital of Catalonia, with its own language, character and story, Barcelona is Spain’s unique and somewhat eccentric tearaway, where lively, contemporary culture thrives in a 2,000 year old city. Barcelona is given its unique and sometimes flamboyant identity by the Modernist architect, Gaudí, where his masterpiece, the iconic Sagrada Família Roman Catholic Church, looms proudly over the city.
A holiday in Andalucía promises quintessential Spain: Sizzling, sunny weather, sumptuous beaches, whitewashed towns and late-night fiestas. Stretching the majority of southern Spain, Andalucía’s area is vast, incorporating eight provinces, two seas and one mountain range. And with this comes extraordinary diversity.
Widely considered one of southern Spain’s most captivating and romantic cities, Seville is the perfect place for soaking up authentic Spanish culture. The best way to explore is on foot and there are plenty of private walking tours to choose from.
A holiday to the Canary Islands reveals a melange of lunar landscapes, forests and turquoise coastlines; and thanks to a balmy climate and year-round sunshine, it’s no wonder this attractive archipelago has long been charming luxury travellers.
Wonderfully wild yet utterly glamorous, Ibiza is the legendary party island of the Med - and it’s not showing any signs of slowing down. Yet aside from the electric nightlife, there are plenty of hidden treasures, and you don’t have to go far to find them. Luxury Ibiza and Formentera holidays promise rural escapes with secluded boutique hotels and coastal walking trails.
Mallorca holidays are perfect for families, couples and groups, with so much culture, history and of course fantastic beaches to enjoy. Venture to picturesque coves, where golden sands meet transparent waters, and we‘d certainly recommend getting a table at one of the lovely little restaurants overlooking the beach and letting the hours tick by, Sangria in hand.

The easternmost of the Balearics, Menorca is noticeably more low-key than its neighbouring islands, with plenty of history, including UNESCO-listed sites, scenic coastal trails and light sapphire waters and white sands that resemble the Caribbean.

Spain’s capital is at its most lively after dark. Flamenco, opera and all things in between provide the soundtrack to music-loving Madrid, so sit back, order some tapas and settle in to the rhythm of the night. The city’s charming squares are full of locals of all ages socialising all night long, so do as the locals do and enjoy some people-watching.

If it’s a beach holiday you’re after, the Costa del Sol doesn’t fall short. Abundant year-round sunshine attracts families and couples to the area’s stylish resort hotels beside the Mediterranean Sea, while the rich and famous flock to their super yachts in Marbella and Puerto Banus, where a sophisticated dining scene and cosmopolitan nightlife await.

Straddling the border between Spain and France, this age-old territory is bristling with history that pre-dates both of its neighbours, and even has its own ancestral language to differentiate itself. With a gorgeous Atlantic coastline offering some of the world’s best surfing, as well as beautiful forested countryside, trendy cities and sumptuous cuisine, a holiday to Spain’s Basque Country comes with all the trimmings.
Stretching along the pristine sands of the Costa Blanca, Alicante trumps all when it comes to a luxury beach holiday in Spain. This sunny Mediterranean hotspot hosts a cluster of traditional whitewashed towns, luxury resorts and numerous fiestas, and its provincial capital remains vivacious and vibrant year-round.
A holiday to Valencia offers a blend of progressive architecture, long sandy beaches, buzzing parties, and giant paella feasts. Charmingly unassuming, its provincial capital has become something of a dark horse in the Spanish tourism industry, having quietly blossomed into a cultural hub over the past two decades.
