Hotel Overview

Sense of place

Hotel San Roque is centrally located in the old historic town of Garachico, in the north west of Tenerife. After a turbulent history of fires and volcanic eruptions, Garachio is considered one of Tenerife's most charming villages. The cobbled streets and restored churches show the traditional Canarian character.

The main attraction of Garachico are the sea water rock pools, created by volcanic rock, which contain an array of tropical fish. You can walk amongst the pools while trying to spot what lies beneath or take a dip and get up close to nature.

Rooms at Hotel San Roque

Originally an 18th century aristocratic home, Hotel San Roque has 20 beautifully designed double rooms, 8 duplex with living rooms, 2 junior suites and 2 suites. La Torre (the tower) enjoys an amazing view of the town and the coastline. Each room has a unique layout, colour and personality, but all offer the same levels of excellence in comfort and service with Jacuzzi baths, audio visual equipment, designer furniture and contemporary art.

Food & Drink

Guests at Hotel San Roque have exclusive use of the open air Anturium restaurant, where food is based on the island’s own excellent produce, laced with Mediterranean influences. A varied wine list and careful service complement the exquisite food and atmospheric surroundings. After dinner drinks can be enjoyed at The Hoffman Bar, decorated with works of the artist from which it gets its name.

Facilities

The colonial feel of the hotel really shows through in the courtyard, with the wraparound balcony overlooking a heated outdoor swimming pool carved from volcanic lava. The pool is then used as a backdrop for candlelit alfresco dinners.

As well as a pool there is a sauna and rooftop solarium with gorgeous views of the surrounding town and the mountains.

Activities at Hotel San Roque

Take off on mountain bike trails, go fishing off the Garachico coast or enjoy hiking, diving, horse riding, kayaking, surfing and paragliding. Another of the big attractions of the north coast is 'Buenavista Golf', Severiano Ballesteros' golf course in Tenerife. Just 10 minutes from the San Roque Hotel, this spectacular 18 hole course lies at the foot of the Teno mountain range.
