Hotel Overview

Sense of place

In the context of Granada’s historic sites, the Alhambra Palace Hotel enjoys a pretty unbeatable location. High on the hill of Sabika, the hotel sits within the historic Alhambra citadel itself, and is within a few minutes’ walk of the famous palace and gardens.

Rooms at Alhambra Palace Hotel

The rooms and suites at the Alhambra Palace are unmistakably modern, with polished wooden floors and eye-catching under- and up-lighting, but they wear the Moorish heritage of the Alhambra on their sleeve. Extensive use is made of latticed wooden screens, for example, and distinctive Moorish arches. Bathrooms are simple but beautiful, clad in marble and decorated with pretty black-and-white mosaics.
All the rooms have pretty impressive views, either of the lush Alhambra Forest or of Granada and the surrounding valley, with a balcony or terrace from which to take them in.

Food & Drink

The hotel's restaurant follows a firm commitment to using ingredients from Granada and the surrounding area wherever possible, meaning you can look forward to fruit and vegetables from the Lecrin Valley, fish and seafood from Motril and the Costa Tropical, and a selection of wines from Granada’s thriving viticulture scene. All these come together to create delicious Mediterranean cuisine, from gazpacho Andaluz to stuffed fillet of sole and roasted loin of deer.

Facilities

Staff will happily recommend places in town for spa facilities – Granada is famous for its traditional hammams.

Activities at Alhambra Palace Hotel

The undisputed star of Granada is the hotel’s namesake, the Alhambra – a majestic Moorish palace in the shadow of the Sierra Nevada mountain range. It’s actually a complex of palaces, with the centrepiece being the magnificent Palacios Nazaries, which dates from the 14th century.

While you could spend all your time in Granada marvelling at the palaces and their beautiful gardens, be sure to take the time to visit Granada’s other attractions. The Capilla Real is a grand Catholic mausoleum to Granada’s Catholic monarchs, while the Basilica de San Juan de Dios is an opulent Baroque church, dating from the 1700s.
