Hotel Overview

Sense of Place

The Vintage House Hotel sits on the banks of the Douro River - it is so close to the riverside that it gives the illusion that the hotel is floating on the water as you look out of the window.

Rooms at Vintage House Hotel

Comfort is the key ingredient for the rooms here. Add in views of the river or the iconic Douro railway line that extends into the scenic terraced vineyards and you have the perfect place in which to unwind and relax. With most of the rooms and suites offering their own private balcony, you won’t be short of spots to admire the views. The master suites are the height of luxury and comfort, featuring king-sized beds, a lounge area with sofas and armchairs, a separate dining table and a grand granite fireplace.

Food & Drink

The Vintage House Hotel offers three dining experiences. The River Room serves up not only meals but gorgeous views of the river and is where guests enjoy a breakfast buffet feast in the morning, while the Rabelo restaurant offers a more sophisticated dining experience with an à la carte menu that combines all the flavours of the Douro region. The Library Bar is the perfect spot to cosy up by the fireplace with a good book and a cup of coffee or a glass of wine.

Facilities

The gardens are a peaceful location to sit back and relax while taking in the views, or, if something a little more energetic is required, there is an outdoor pool and a tennis court.

Activities at Vintage House Hotel

Enjoy a range of wine-tasting experiences and explore the endless rows of the verdant vineyards and the medieval Romanesque architecture of the region. The Vintage House Hotel is the ideal place to learn more about Portuguese wines - it has a Wine Academy and has regular wine courses and tastings.
