Hotel Overview

Sense of place

Strand Hotel Fevik is one of the few beachfront hotels in southern Norway, with dramatic views out to sea of the rugged coastline and the skerries - the small, rocky islands which rise from the ocean. In the other direction is the resort town of Fevik and, behind the hotel, forested countryside.

Rooms at Strand Hotel Fevik

The rooms have a homely, traditional look, with whitewashed wooden floorboards and furniture, a tasteful colour palette of pastels, including muted duck-egg blue, and comfortable Chesterfield armchairs. Some rooms overlook the sea, others the forest. There are also spacious apartments with kitchens and balconies from which you can enjoy the view.

Food & drink

The hotel’s restaurant is spread across three grand dining rooms: Neptun, overlooking the sea, and the more intimate and cosy Axel Lund and Blasalen. The food is traditional fare, beautifully presented, which changes according to the availability of seasonal ingredients: sample dishes include shellfish soup with scallops, venison with red beetroot, and roasted trout with creamed potatoes. Breakfast is a buffet, with cold cuts, bread, pastries and fruit offered alongside hot dishes cooked to order. Throughout the day, the Roald Dahl Bar - named after one of the hotel’s most famous patrons - is a relaxing place for a drink.

Facilities

The hotel’s wellness area includes both indoor and outdoor hot tubs and a sauna, with massage treatments also available on request. The well-equipped fitness centre means there’s no need to miss your workout while you’re away.

Activities at Strand Hotel Fevik

The hotel sits on a sandy beach, where swimming, sunbathing and beach volleyball are all popular activities - a rare treat in this part of the world. On the water, diving, sea fishing and boat trips are all great ways to explore the region’s rugged coastline. Back on dry land, golf, go-karting and bowling are all on offer nearby, and animal lovers should check out Kristiansand Zoo, around 45 minutes’ drive away. In nearby Grimstad, meanwhile, literature buffs will be interested in visiting the Ibsen Museum, dedicated to the life and work of legendary playwright Henrik Ibsen.
