Hotel Overview

Sense of place

Reine is a small fishing village beloved of artists and photographers for its beautiful natural landscapes, and these little red huts are a beautiful place to retreat to after a day’s hiking, biking or kayaking in the great outdoors.

Rooms at Reine Rorbuer

The 32 cabins are renovated traditional fishing huts, which retain their historical style and atmosphere while updating them to modern standards of comfort and luxury. The huts are impossibly cosy, with distressed woodwork, stoves, big sofas and chairs and traditional rugs making them a home away from home during your time in Reine.

Food and drink

Continuing the traditional, local theme, Reine Rorbuer’s restaurant, Gammelbua, is housed in the town’s old general store. Fresh local ingredients, most prominently (of course) fish, are whipped up into delicious cuisine, both traditional Norwegian and international, which is presented in a gourmet, artistic style.

Facilities

The cabins feature small but fully-equipped kitchen areas, so if you fancy a night in – perhaps even cooking up the catch of the day if you enjoyed a successful fishing trip – you can cook and eat in the comfort and privacy of your cabin. There’s also a mini-market on site where you can stock up on supplies, and a fitness centre.

Activities at Reine Rorbuer

A stay in Reine is all about experiencing the beauty of the natural world around you, and excursions and expeditions of various kinds can be arranged to leave from the hotel. These include high-speed sea rafting, guided by experienced professionals; fishing competitions, with all ability and experience levels welcome; a trip to the Lofoten fishery in Reine; and kayak, biking and mountain trips.
