Hotel Overview

Sense of place

Eliassen Rorbuer's renovated fishing huts sit in a quaint village on the little island of Hamnoy, dwarfed by the surrounding mountains, with dramatic views over the fjord. The mountains shelter the unspoilt beauty that is found in the untouched bays and beaches of the Lofoten Islands.

Rooms at Eliassen Rorbuer

The 35 cabins range from singular rooms to a two-bedroom cottage with the best views on the island, and they come with kitchens and living areas as well as comfortable bedrooms. We recommend that couples upgrade to a superior one-bedroom cottage, while the waterfront deluxe cottage is ideal for families or parties larger than two. The waterfront view isn’t one to be missed!

Food & drink

Found in the centre of the village, the cosy Krambua restaurant is very inviting after a day out in the refreshing air exploring the fjord or the nearby islands. Naturally, seafood features heavily on the menu, which makes the most of fresh, seasonal ingredients and utilises traditional Scandinavian cooking methods.

Facilities

All the equipment you could need for outdoor pursuits is available to rent at the hotel, including bikes and boats.

Activities at Eliassen Rorbuer

Some of nature’s most beautiful light shows can be experienced here, with the Northern Lights in the winter and the Midnight Sun throughout the summer. This is also a great place for snorkelling, diving, birdwatching and hiking, with spectacular views from on top of the nearby mountains. You can also join local fishermen on a fishing trip and learn about their ancient way of life which continues to sustain people in this remote part of the world.
