Hotel Overview

Sense of place

Overlooking the serene Storfjord and out to the Sunnmore Alps, Storfjord Hotel is a luxurious mountain retreat with a ‘slow life’ ethos which is all about enjoying the natural environment and extends to its delicious cuisine.

Rooms at Storfjord Hotel

The rooms and suites at Storfjord are impossibly cosy, in a log cabin style with light wood walls, floors and ceilings, four-poster beds and private balconies. Furnished with big comfy chairs and traditionally-patterned cushions and throws, they are the perfect place to relax and warm up after a day in the mountains, taking in the panoramic views.

Food & drink

Every evening a four-course feast is served up, with seasonal local produce whipped up into delicious traditional Norwegian dishes. The hotel prides itself on its collection of cheeses from local producers, and you can even wash it all down with the hotel’s very own locally-brewed ale, Storfjordbrygg.

Facilities

Storfjord is committed to helping you make the most of the area’s beautiful scenery, and to that end bikes, kayaks and row boats are available free of charge for all guests. Nature's playground is on your doorstep, and there is an outdoor hot tub waiting for you after a day outdoors.

Activities at Storfjord Hotel

A range of outdoor activities depart from the hotel, including boat trips on the Hjorundfjord, which depart daily during the summer months, along with wildlife sea safaris, where you can spot seals and seabirds. Enjoy woodland walks or hiking in the Sunnmore Alps, or indulge in a private cruise or helicopter trip to the waterfalls at Geirangerfjord.

If the delicious food at the hotel has whet your appetite for local produce, you can find out more about local cuisine at a farm in nearby Glomset and learn how to bake traditional Norwegian items such as lefse flatbread and kringle pretzels.
