Hotel Overview

Sense of place

Juvet is all about immersing yourself in the environment, even when you’re in your room – huge glass windows mean you can’t avoid the great outdoors, and the same is true of the brilliant spa overlooking the river.

Rooms at Juvet Landscape Hotel

Rooms at Juvet are all geared towards experiencing the landscape outside, rather than your immediate environment. As such, they are elegant but simple in design, with muted colour schemes and lots and lots of wood and glass; meaning that even from the outside they’re camouflaged seamlessly with their surroundings.

Food and drink

Like everything else about this incredible hotel, eating and drinking at Juvet is rooted in the surrounding countryside, with local produce used to serve Norwegian delicacies such as gravlax, reindeer and smoked salmon. Pastries and cakes are provided courtesy of Nikka, a 98-year-old local celebrity. Among the drinks options is Slogen, a locally produced beer.

Facilities

Juvet has a beautiful spa area, built in dark concrete next to the river and painted to bring to mind the interior of a cave – the perfect place to recharge the batteries after a tiring day exploring your surroundings. Within, there’s a steam room and a quiet area where you can simply enjoy watching the river go by, and outside there’s a hot tub and a relaxation area with an open fireplace.

Activities at Juvet Landscape Hotel

Summer is the time of year when you have the most options for exploring the countryside around Juvet, with a boat trip on the Geirangerfjord – arguably the most beautiful fjord in Norway – an unforgettable experience. Kayaking, fjord fishing, climbing and rafting are also on offer. Through the spring, temperatures are pleasant but there’s still snow left on the peaks for mountain and cross-country skiing.
