Hotel Overview

Sense of place

The Art Nouveau Hotel Brosundet may have a perfect waterfront location in Alesund, but its interiors are no less impressive - with a primary focus on art and design, past-meets-present style and artistry are everywhere in this hotel, thanks to its work with world-renowned architects.

Rooms at Hotel Brosundet

There are over 100 rooms and suites at Hotel Brosundet, which are a meeting of the rustic and the contemporary; exposed beams and stonework are a nod to the building’s long history, while the furnishings and décor are modern and elegant.

You can also stay in the Molja lighthouse, a five-minute walk from the rest of the hotel at the end of a jetty, which offers a truly unique way to spend your time in Alesund. Wake up to sweeping views over the Atlantic and enjoy a gourmet breakfast basket.

Food & Drink

The Pharmacy Street No. 5 restaurant offers delicious seasonal dishes which make the most of the natural bounty on the doorstep, including fresh fish such as Pacific oysters and tasty vegetables. Meanwhile, at the stylish Archive Bar, kick back in style with one of the handmade vintage cocktails. Or simply tell the bar staff what drinks you like and they will create a concoction just for you.

Facilities

In the evening, relax by the impressive fireplace in the spacious wooden-beamed lounge.

Activities at Hotel Brosundet

Hotel Brosundet has its own private quay - it couldn't be easier to paddle out on one of the complimentary kayaks - a lovely way to explore - and you can also head out in a RIB boat and see puffins and seal colonies, or go fishing and eat your catch of the day in the restaurant.

Walk around the colourful streets of Alesund, and find out more about its colourful Art Nouveau buildings, including the one the hotel is housed in, at the Art Nouveau Centre. Meanwhile you are close to some of Norway's most spectacular hikes, including around the Sunnmore Alps and fjords - you will be rewarded with beautiful views. For even more beautiful and panoramic views, see the mountains and fjords from above on a scenic helicopter tour.
