Montenegro’s southern areas along the coast enjoy a Mediterranean climate, having dry summers and mild, rainy winters, while the central and northern regions have a Continental climate, where the weather varies greatly with elevation.
Montenegro’s ski season kicks in between December and March, where many hotels and restaurants along the coast close their doors; however, come May, with plenty of sunshine and an average water temperature of over 20 degrees Celsius, Montenegro starts to flourish as a summer destination. July and August are the warmest and driest months, where temperatures can peak at around 35 degrees Celsius.
From September to November, the temperatures begin to fall over the shoulder season and you can expect snow from November in the central regions.
