Hotel Overview

Sense of Place

This elegant hotel is in the centre of Taormina, just a stone’s throw from shops, restaurants and the main sights and attractions of the area, including the Greek Theatre.

Rooms at The Ashbee

The Ashbee’s interiors are bold and beautiful, featuring marble and polished woods, with ornate chandeliers hanging from high ceilings. The rooms are spacious and glamorous, their neutral colour scheme highlighted by hints of regal purple, bespoke furnishings and vintage fabrics. They overlook the gardens, the courtyard and the Gulf of Taormina; some have sea-view terraces, and the suites also have separate living areas, stone fireplaces and whirlpool tubs, and some are split on two levels.

The spa suite comes with a Turkish bath, the family suite has its own garden and the painter’s suite is full of colourful art.

Food & Drink

Linger on the terrace and take in the sweeping coastal backdrop at St. George while tucking into Sicilian and Mediterranean specialities such as caponata and arancini – every dish is exquisite here. The intimate pool bar, set amongst the olive trees, is a delightful place to enjoy cocktails in part shade, part Mediterranean sun.

Facilities

Go for a swim in the pool, which has a scenic setting overlooking the beach below, before heading to the rooftop terrace.

Activities at The Ashbee

The prime location of The Ashbee allows for easy access to the shops, streets and piazzas of Taormina, as well as its historic wonders – browse the boutiques of Corso Umberto and visit the Greek Theatre, which is just a ten-minute walk away.

Enjoy a guided walking tour of Mount Etna and its surrounding landscape of snow-capped peaks and dense pine forests. Thanks to the volcanic soils, rich in minerals, this is a flourishing wine region - a wine tour comes highly recommended. We also recommend taking a boat out around the coast and the islands - sip a cocktail on deck at sunset as the sky turns pink.

The hotel’s private shuttle service is always on hand to whisk you away to one of the nearby beaches and ensure you return in time for a few drinks before dinner.
